Ricardo Elías (b. Trinidad, Cuba, 1969)

Ricardo Elías received formal training in photojournalism. He works in both photography and video, exploring the ways in which these media shape our understanding of history and ourselves. Recent exhibitions include: Where is the Enchantment?, Galería Havana, 2002; Cuban Art, XXV Biennial of Sao Paulo, 2002; and In Red and Black, Center for the Development of Visual Arts, Havana, 2001. His work is included in collections in Cuba, Israel, Japan, Spain, and the United States.
